A question about Ford Escort 1,8 Diesel 1996?

After 10 seconds of starting my engine it shuts down.After that, i have to start the engine 4-5 times so the engine can work, and in the beginning it makes a strange noise.In the same day, if i start the engine every 30 minutes it works good.If the engine cools down for 4-5 hours, it has the same problems.The engine starts easy and it shut downs after 10 seconds, and I have to start the engine 4-5 times again. My mechanic has changed the engine oil filter.
