What to do with my hyper JRT when meeting people?

I'm a big fan of using leash corrections. I step on my dogs leash so they have enough room to stand but when they try to jump it just brings their feet straight back to the ground. It helps w/jumping and the lunging/playing because he can't physically go anywhere. Then as they calm down I start letting them get more interactive
