Is it normal to *** without sexual thoughts? my hubby has this problem. HELP PLS! X?

i've noticed at night while i'm trying to sleep that my husband makes funny noises, then i feel something wet on the bed spread? i smelt it in the morning and it smelt like ***, then i had a wee taste? but is this possible? he didn't touch himself at all. he was just reading his time magazine on osama bin laden. HELP!
